National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) – Level 1
Focus is on the developing coach so that he or she may prepare athletes (experienced or inexperienced) with basic technical and educational training sessions. Includes: Introduction & Code of Ethics, Offensive Line, the Quarterback, Running Backs, Block Protection and Tackling, Defensive Line Play, Linebackers, Defensive Backs, the Specialists, Defensive Systems, Offensive System, Special Teams' Systems, Practice Organization, the Coach and Team Organizer, Receivers, Resources.

National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) – Level 2
Focus is on more advanced skills with increased emphasis on team play and administration of programs. Includes: Offensive Line Play, Offensive Backfield Play, Defensive Line Play, Linebacker Play, Defensive Backfield Play, Offensive Team Play, Defensive Team Play, Quarterback Technique, Receiver Play, The Kicking Game, The Role of the Coach, Principles of Organization.

National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) – Level 3
Focus is to develop a high level of technical expertise necessary to coach advanced skills for high performance athletes. Includes:
• Fundamental Skills: Offensive Line Play, the Quarterback, the Running Backs, Inside and Wide Receivers, Defensive Line Play, the Linebackers, Defensive Backfield Play, the Specialists.
• Team Play: The Determining Factors, Defensive Theory, Offensive Theory, Special Teams.
• Organization and Administration of Football Programs: Drills, Game-Day Organization, Motivation in Football.


2006-2007 Canadian Rule Book for Tackle Football
Approved for use by the CIS, CJFL, QJFL, CCAA, and Football Canada. This book lists the rules and regulations that govern Canadian Amateur Football. It includes: code of ethics, regulations, officials' signal, and rules. This book also includes the Case Book which contains interpretations and rulings, for common and complex game situations, that are recognized by the Football Canada Rules' Committee and will provide for a common interpretation of various plays across Canada.

Introduction to Football
This booklet produced by Football Canada provides basic information to help the novice coach off to a good start. Since the first-time coach has a major influence not only on the development sports skills of football, but also on the moral and ethical values of the young athletes this booklet touches a variety of subjects such as basic rules and regulations, and ethics and fair play.

Football and Your Child
This pamphlet was published in response to the requests from parents for factual and pertinent information that would help them make an informed decision about letting their child play organized football. This pamphlet addresses some of the questions and concerns that parents have about their child's participation in football. "The safety and well-being of your child is our number one concern."

Basic Football Fundamentals: A Simple Biomechanical Approach
("Gino Fracas Book")

This book describes basic fundamental skills in football and applies biomechanical principles to demonstrate why the skills are executed in the fashion they are. It is the hope of the author that this explanation will give both coach and player a better understanding of why a skill is performed in a particular way. This manual includes sections on: Biomechanics of football techniques, offensive fundamentals, defensive fundamentals, and specialty team skills.

Purchasing & Maintaining Equipment
This handbook has been produced and distributed to assist managers of amateur football teams in purchasing, fitting, maintaining, storing and inventorying their football equipment and clothing. This manual includes section on: Budget preparation considerations, general purchasing considerations, inventory control, protective equipment, the football, first aid supplies, and the equipment manager.

This manual has been prepared for parents and coaches who wish to develop a strength and conditioning program for young football players. The basic information provided in this manual will help establish sound and safe training habits that will be fun and enjoyable.

Level 1 Tackle Student Manual – 2006 edition

This manual is used to prepare the new official for assignment on the sideline (Head Linesman or Field Judge), in minor leagues and high school football. To begin this familiarization process, instructional techniques, training aids, and the Training Manuals are used.

The objectives of this manual are to prepare sideline officials for assignment in the Line Umpire position (3- and 4- official system), in minor leagues and high school football, and to improve their understanding of the sideline position.

Level 3 Tackle Student Manual – 2000 edition

Level 3 prepares officials for assignment to the Referee's position in minor league and high school football, as well as the Umpire positions (Line Umpire and Back Umpire) in 5-official systems, and to the sideline positions in community college games.

Level 4 Tackle Student Manual – 1996 edition

Level 4 expands on the philosophy of officiating, understanding of the spirit and intent of the rules, and general knowledge of other aspects of the game which, through Levels 1 to 3, have only been mentioned briefly, if at all. It also prepares officials for assignments as a Referee or Umpire in Community College games, and to sideline positions (in a 6-official crew) in CIAU, CJFL, and QJFL games.

These manuals have been developed to aid all Instructors in organizing and presenting materials to be covered during certification clinics of the Football Canada Officials' Certification Program (FCOCP).
